New U.S. Ban on Electronics on Select Airlines

New U.S. Ban on Electronics on Select Airlines

A new travel ban is currently in progress of being implemented, that would restrict large electronics on certain airlines. An inside source said the rule would be implemented on U.S. bound flights from certain countries, such as the Middle East and Africa.

Royal Jordanian Airlines, the national airline of Jordan confirmed in a tweet today that U.S. bound passengers would be banned from carrying most electronic devices in the main cabin starting Tuesday. However, this tweet was later deleted without any explanation.

The Department of Homeland Security said, “We have no comment on potential security precautions, but will provide any update as appropriate.”

Security measures from Homeland Security have been increasing, with the recent requirement for electronic devices to be powered up before passengers could board flights to the United States. This was implemented in the summer of 2014.

What are your thoughts on the increase of security measures? Do you feel more or less comfortable travelling? Let us know in the comments!

Why You Shouldn’t Share Your Boarding Pass Online

Why You Shouldn’t Share Your Boarding Pass Online

Thought it was harmless to post a photo of your boarding pass to let others know you’re all about that travel life? It turns out, your boarding pass contains a lot of sensitive information! Hackers can figure out your name, loyalty program, and possibly even alter your travel itinerary.

Each boarding pass has a loyalty number on the boarding pass which can be used to log into your personal profile. It also contains the Passenger Name Record (PNR) which can provide data such as the travel route, payment information, phone number, data of birth, and passport data – all very valuable to criminals and hackers. You can even take a photo of an old boarding pass and upload it on this site here to see what info can be pulled.

Better think twice before sharing a photo of your boarding pass, but if you still ignore our advice you should at least cover up the barcode and your loyalty number.

Free Wine Fountain in Italy

Free Wine Fountain in Italy

Free red wine from a fountain in Italy too good to be true? It’s rare to get free alcohol, but this is actually true! The red wine fountain just opened up this Sunday in Caldari di Ortona, in Abruzzo so make sure to add this to your bucket list! Courtesy of the Dora Sarchese Vineyard, which installed the fountain and made it accessible 24/7 but note “drunkards” are not welcome here.

The reason behind this wine fountain was to increase awareness and promote the popular pilgrimage route known as Cammino di San Tommaso. Each year, thousands of pilgrims make the journey from Rome to visit The Basilica of St. Thomas the Apostle, where St. Thomas’ remains are kept and now this free fountain is on the way.

We bet this made you plan a trip to Italy, make sure to plan your Italy trip on our site here: www.yaytrip.com
